GIS Cloud Suite
Service Nodes Creation
There are two ways to create a service node in GIS Cloud Suite, one is creating during the service publishing(please refer to the fifth step in Service Management > Service Instances > Publishing Services > Publishing File Workspace; another way is creating on the Service Nodes page, please follow the steps below:
- Clicks on Service Management > Service Nodes on the left navigation bar;
- Clicks on Create Service Nodes;
- Fills in the name of service node;
-
Selects the node type;
The types of service node are divided into mapping node, data node, address match analysis node, spatial analysis node, network analysis node, traffic transfer analysis node, ArcGIS geometry analysis node, general analysis node, realspace node, tiles node, dataflow node, and gisapplication node. Different types of service instance should be published on the different types of service node, see the table below.
Regardless of the type of service node, as long as you have any of the license base edition corresponding to the following table, and you can create a node. When publishing services, you need to check the license base edition required by the specific service. For instance, to publish ArcGIS REST Map Services on mapping nodes, you must have an advanced license.

- UGCV5 tile data source includes original(discrete) tile and compact tile, which are determined by the specific file of step 2 “Configuration the data” in Service Management > Service Instances > Publishing Services > Publishing UGCV5 Tiles.
- If the datasource are SMTiles File, SVTiles File, UGCV5 Original Tiles, MBTiles File, GeoPackage File, ZXY Tiles, TPK File, VTPK File, ArcGIS Cache, ArcGIS CacheV2, Local 3D Cache, and 3DTiles Cache, please publish service on the tiles node.
- If the datasource are UGCV5 Compact Tiles, UGCV5(MVT) Tiles, and MongoDB Tiles, please publish service on the mapping node or gisapplication node.
- The gisapplication node which is created on Service Nodes page will obtains all the available modules from license center, you can publish different types of service on the gisapplication node. The gisapplication node which is created during service publishing will obtains only one kind of license module from license center, it does not support to publish different types of service.
- WCS1.1.1 Service and WCS1.1.2 Service can be used normally only when published on the map microservice node. Therefore, for WCS1.1.1 Service and WCS1.1.2 Service, only mapping nodes and gisapplication nodes can be selected when publishing service.

Selects the license type;
Support flexible selection of license types for service nodes based on their usage. The license types include Auto-allocation, License by Core, Extension by Core, and License by Set. The specific instructions are as follows:
- Auto-allocation: The system will automatically assign licenses to the created service nodes based on License Info). Gisapplication node can obtain all licenses included and supported by the license center, depending on the method of creating the node: if the gisapplication node is created during the service publishing, licenses will be obtained on demand; If the gisapplication node is created directly on the “Service Nodes” page, all licenses will be obtained by default; Other node types will default to obtaining all supported licenses. For example, the Realspace node carries three types of extension licenses, including the Realspace Service Extension Module, Network Analysis Service Extension Module, and Plot Service Extension Module. When creating a realspace node, a request will be made for the licenses of these three extension modules. If you lack an understanding of the license mechanisms, it is recommended to choose the auto-allocation.
- License by Core: If the license of the GIS Cloud Suite site includes a core-based license, you can allocate corresponding basic modules (Basic, Standard, Advanced, Ultra) and extension modules (including core-based and unlimited extension modules) to the service node based on its actual usage.
- Extension by Core: In the current licensing mechanism, extension modules by core (such as the Network Analysis Service extension module (16 cores)) are allowed to run separately. If the GIS Cloud Suite site license includes core expansion modules, you can assign the corresponding core expansion modules to the service node based on its actual usage, without assigning the base module.
- License by Set: If the license of the GIS Cloud Suite site contains the license by set, you can allocate basic modules (Basic, Standard, Advanced, Ultra) and extension modules (including unlimited core extension modules) to the service node based on its actual usage.
Notes:
For specific information about product versions, license categories, and extension modules, please refer to SuperMap iServer online help(see [Start>iServer introduction and getting started>Product editions and modules])。
- Clicks on Confirm to finish creating.
